'Hoary Old Stones VII'
an original painting by Nicki MacRae.

Width: 8" / 20cm
Height: 20" / 50cm
Depth: 1 1/2" / 4cm

Acrylic on canvas.
Completed August 2008.

This is my seventh painting inspired by the ancient stones of the Highlands of Scotland.

I have been enchanted by megaliths (standing stones, stone circles and other ancient monuments) since my childhood trips to famous sites such as Stonehenge and Avebury. As an adult I have made it my mission to visit and spend time at as many of these sites as possible, including very special trips to the Isle of Lewis and Orkney.

This painting is on a box frame stretched canvases with the staples on the rear of the frame for neatness. I have continued the painting around onto the edges of the canvas (see photos). The painting is ready to hang and requires no framing. It has been signed and dated on the rear.

I am based in the Highlands of Scotland, UK, but will ship worldwide - please see below for shipping prices. Please note that if you are outside of the EU you will be responsible for any taxes or charges incurred by importing the painting into your country or state.

All paintings are sent very carefully packaged for protection and with insurance against loss or damage in the postal system, this is included in the stated shipping price.

Angaben zu Bezahlung und Versand

I am very careful about how I package paintings for sale. I first wrap them in bubble wrap, then add a thick cardboard sleeve for extra protection. Last the whole package is put into a plastic mailing sack. I always ship with insurance, and this is included in the quoted shipping cost. I'm sorry some of my larger paintings I have not yet found an economical way to ship outside of the UK (if you love something so much you must have it I can get shipping quotes for you, however these are likely to be very high). I prefer payment by PayPal, but do get in touch if you wish to pay by another method and we'll see what we can sort out :-).
