'Searching for Peace Within'
an original painting by Nicki MacRae.

Width: 16" / 40cm
Height: 16" / 40cm
Depth: 1 1/2" / 4cm

Acrylic on canvas.
Completed September 2008.

I have become really interested in painting emotions and emotional states. This image popped into my mind and I quickly got it down as a sketch. I found the actual painting so exciting to work on that I was up at 6:30am one morning finishing it!

'Searching for the Peace' within is all about those moments when our head becomes full, when we're tetchy and stressed, the point when we become overwhelmed and so just for a moment close our eyes, summon up inner strength and search for a moments peace and clarity. The figure in the painting might be in a moment of mental turmoil, but I wanted to show hope was not lost by their purposeful expression.

This painting is on a box frame stretched canvases with the staples on the rear of the frame for neatness. The sides have been painted to blend with the main design so it can be instantly hung without a frame (see photos). The painting is ready to hang and requires no framing. It has been signed and dated on the rear.

I am based in the Highlands of Scotland, UK, but will ship worldwide - please see below for shipping prices. Please note that if you are outside of the EU you will be responsible for any taxes or charges incurred by importing the painting into your country or state.

All paintings are sent very carefully packaged for protection and with insurance against loss or damage in the postal system, this is included in the stated shipping price.

Angaben zu Bezahlung und Versand

I am very careful about how I package paintings for sale. I first wrap them in bubble wrap, then add a thick cardboard sleeve for extra protection. Last the whole package is put into a plastic mailing sack. I always ship with insurance, and this is included in the quoted shipping cost. I'm sorry some of my larger paintings I have not yet found an economical way to ship outside of the UK (if you love something so much you must have it I can get shipping quotes for you, however these are likely to be very high). I prefer payment by PayPal, but do get in touch if you wish to pay by another method and we'll see what we can sort out :-).
