My love of crochet began ten years ago as a young adult. It was Christmastime, and my grandmother had made my mother a simple, but lovely, crocheted afgan. Although I had long practiced various crafts, I was fascinated by the beauty of using my hands to create something useful, and that night, I pestered her to teach me.
She taught me all she knew - the chain stitch and the single crochet stitch, and likely believed that it would be forgotten before the night was over. But I was not to be deterred. I stayed up nearly all night, and by 4am was pleased to leave a single pot holder on the kitchen counter for all to admire in the morning.
From those humble beginnings, I began studying my craft. Through books, I learned new stitches, how to change color, and how to crochet in the round. I began to decipher patterns and to create sometimes-wobbly and sometimes-lovely items that were, to my great delight, useful to me and others. For years I studied and practiced, until one day I discovered something that surprised and fascinated me - I no longer needed a pattern. I had learned enough to crochet from my own imagination. This opened up endless possibilities.
The items you find in my shop, though they may be few, are not from a book or a pattern. They are the product of my own design. Whether traditional, modern, funky, or even weird, they are original.
About Me:
i am a 29-year-old married, conservative Christian woman, and my husband and I are most excited to be expecting our first little one later this year.
