Über mich

My name is Emile van Hoogdalem and I like to make things.

I was born in Leerdam, a small city known for its glassblowing and cheesemaking in the middle of the Netherlands.

Currently, I am living and studying in Düsseldorf, Germany, towards a BA in Applied Arts and Design.
I started as a electrician and then studied to become a goldsmith, in the small town of Schoonhoven,
in the Netherlands, which is known for its gold and silversmithing history.

The scale of my work became bigger, and my interests evolved too,
so I moved to the University of Applied Sciences and Design (Düsseldorf)
where I am able to design and make bigger pieces such as installations, objects and furniture.
