On May 7, 2006, my husband and I began our new life here in the South of France. After quitting my job as a former high school music and drama teacher in Canada, I thought it was time to try something different here in France. So, I bought a sewing machine, some fabric and began to create.
We live in a little quaint French town called Vence, where every morning Ms. Polly Anna Pockets (my dog) and I go for a walk around town, to the market to pick up our fruit and veg. for the day. After , we head to the boulangerie, where we pick up our fresh baguettes or croissants depending on the mood. After our daily shopping excursion, we head back to our little French flat where I begin to sew some creations for my shop.
So, it has been about a year and a half now here is France. My French is slowly improving (and I do mean... slowly), but I have been pretty busy creating, sewing and when I am lucky, selling a couple of my creations. What started as a hobby has now become a full fledged business and I am loving every minute of it!
People say “what a charmed life you lead” and I say OUI, C’est Vrai!
