Welcome to marieflyfly!

My name is Marie, and I live on the coast of Western Norway.

Marieflyfly was my nickname when I was a little girl - it's actually a childrens' word for ladybugs in Norwegian.

I love to create jewelry that plays on the contrast between vintage and contemporary, contrast of colors, materials or texture. My work features vintage glass and lucite beads, sleek modern ebony beads and quirky copper and sterling silver components that are handmade by indie artisans. I think I draw on my Scandinavian heritage, in the choice of simplicity in design and quality of materials and work as my main principles. All the metals used in my work are sterling silver and pure copper, unless otherwise stated (there might be the odd brass or gunmetal chain, but never plated base metal).
