Über mich

My full name is Milica Popovic Bubanja. I was born in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia and the former Yugoslavia. I spent my childhood and youth on the coast of Peru, in the small town of Piura. I now live in the beautiful country of Slovenia with my husband and two boys. In my soul I feel this constant blend of the different people, places, cultures, colors and smells that I’ve experienced... a Balkan temperament combined with the sandy beaches of South America and the lovely sites of Slovenia. They all combine in my personality and my work. I feel so much uniqueness in everybody and everything... I think this comes out in the jewelry I make. Every piece, like every person, conveys a different story, a different history, a different mood.

Every piece is an exploration of creativity, an outpouring of soul. I get lost in concentration. I get challenged. I get drawn into every piece’s story, its own unique being. And when it’s done, I know that I’ve made something that brings beauty into the world, and hopefully makes other people happy as well. I make the jewelry by hand, one piece at a time.
