Über mich

I am a gold and silversmith living in Australia. I am the product of a very artistic family.

My grandfather was a writer, my father a classical pianist and my mother was a painter. It was a natural progression into sculpture, painting and then making smaller objects leading up to gold and silver smithing.

I try to visit Germany every 2 years. I have emotional ties there, as my family is German from my father's side of the family. My grandfather was Jakob Wassermann, a well known writer. So I visit Bayern/Franken whenever I can afford to.

I love German Food and German Weiss Bier, and as always the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence - I like the cooler weather in Germany, as the weather gets very hot in Australia.

I am particularly influenced by the ocean and its' creatures, i love seaweed, moths and flowers and have an affinity with 'Japanese-ness', as my mother was a Japanese Artist and therefore you can see the influence in my work...

I am prone to wearing enourmous rings. I love handbags and shoes and would like to learn how to make shoes one day...

I am also constantly trying to make more time for computerish things, such as learning how to manoeuvre around photoshop, for example...

new things and experiences don't scare me..

I have a gorgeous daughter and a wonderful husband who totally support my need to create objects......
